mrmu: Mozilla Raindrop seems to be a very interesting open-source, people-centric messaging tool. Could be a good alternative to Google Wave. Read the introduction and watch the video. Sounds interesting. You gotta love the presentation style in the introduction video. The Lessig-Method meets the browser.
