To follow or not to follow
Very intersting discussion going on about why you subscribe to a tumbleblog. To me both sides are kind of right. I often find myself subscribing to a blog/tumbleblog because of its beautiful design.
But this decision always goes along with good content. I would follow a tumbleblog with a bad design and good content. But not the other way around.
The funny thing is that most of of the blogs that have beauty on the outside tend to have beauty on the inside. So in my opinion content goes first. But the importance of design should not be underestimated.

Yes, I’m cynical. Thank you, Richard.
People are fickle. Always will be. I guess I have a much less enlightened view of humanity. People are superficial and trendy. There are people who aren’t as well, but I think they’re the minority, sadly.
For the record I think blogs and other websites work the same way: superficial reasons to start off, but then you get to know them.
I think it’s like getting to know a friend. First you are attracted by something, maybe they said something smart, maybe they have similar fashion or beliefs. So from a few superficial observations, you start spending more time together and become friends.
That’s how I see subscribing/following.
